My name is Bri Blankenbicker and I am a mama to 4, Registered Nurse (RN), Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), and ICEA Certified Childbirth Educator (ICCE).
I graduated from Shadyside Hospital School of Nursing in December 2015 and have worked in many different areas of nursing since then. I have professional experience working in the Emergency Room, Adult Medical/ Surgical, Pediatrics, and Women's Health (a little bit of everything).
In July 2017, I started working at a birth center in Charlotte, NC and would be the second set of hands during the out of hospital deliveries. I would also do 48-hour postpartum home visits where I would assess mom and baby and provide breastfeeding support.
After having a miscarriage in November 2017, I switched from the clinical side to the education side of Women's Health and completely fell in love with it!
I became an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant in September 2020 via Lactation Education Resources. I also completed The ICEA Childbirth Educator class, requirements, and exam and became an ICEA Certified Childbirth Educator in September 2021. I also have my HypnoBirth Certification and am excited to add those classes soon as well!
For prenatal education, I have developed my own Birth, Breastfeeding, Newborn Care, Natural Coping Measures for Birth, and a Refresher course for second+ time parents. I offer these classes both in person and virtually as well as in a group and private setting.
I also offer one-on-one prenatal and postnatal lactation consultations both in person (either in office or in home) and virtually as well.
My number one goal is to help women and families release all fears and feel confident/ excited for both their birth and breastfeeding journeys.
Providing women and families with the education and tools they need to have a safe, healthy birth and postpartum experience is something that I am truly passionate about and I'm thankful you are here to learn more!
